We think we see the world as it is. But we don’t. We see the world as we are programmed to see it…
First, we are genetically programmed. That’s why we resemble our relatives.
Then, after we are born, we are environmentally programmed. We learn the language, eating habits, culture, customs, and traditions of our surroundings. We grow to like many aspects of this environment and often remain within the same socioeconomic level as the people of the environment we were born into.
However, some individuals manage to create a new, more exciting environment for themselves and others. How do they achieve it? What do they do differently?
The good news is that even if we have been living a certain way for many years, by changing our perspective, we can reprogram our thinking and, consequently, our mindset to create choices that have meaning and value for us.
